BT has just announced a shocking 15000 job cuts, mostly from the UK.

The redundancies are far higher than industry experts predicted and comes at the same time as a reported 134 million pound loss over the past year.

Unions are particularly worried as BT made 15000 over the past year as opposed to 10000 planned. It is hoped that the redundancies will come from mainly agency or temporary staff with few, if any compulsory redundancies.

15000 represents 10% of BT's workforce. The groups revenue was up to £24.4billion to March this year.
