Tanfield, manufacturer of zero emission electric vehicles and ariel work platforms, revealed on 11th July one quarter of its 400 staff could be axed from the base in Washington, Tyne and Wear. The news comes after 30 faced redundancy at the engineering services base in Tanfield Lea, County Durham.

Talks are being held for 30 days over possible redundancies in the electric vehicles and powered access divisions.
