On 7th July 2008, the Guardian reported 30 jobs were to go at Global Radio, owners of 90 stations including LBC, Galaxy and Heart radio stations because of the current economic climate.

The AM news channel at LBC could also become automated than using live presenters. The total number of redundancies were uncertain and in which areas but were thought to include programming, HR, technology and journalists.
