Newspaper group JOHNSTON PRESS has issued a warning that further job losses are likely due to a huge slump in advertising revenue during the economic downturn.

The company made made 1130 redundancies last year but states that the crash in revenue has been unprecedented.

Most redundancies have been through "natural wastage" and on a voluntary basis, but further forced redundancies are likely.
