Well Labour lose another seat only this time there was a swing of 22.5% in Glasgow East.
At that rate nearly all the Labour cabinet will lose their jobs - a serious problem for Brown.
What next? A general election in the Autumn? Can they simply replace Brown getting replaced without putting it to the people. Surely that would really be taking the rind. but then again....
Let's face it, the economy's in serious strife. Yes we've had a decade of continuous growth, but during that we've accumulated massive personal debt built on the basis of a now crumbling housing market.
Other countries have gone through smaller recessions - corrections and we haven't. Does this mean we're due a huge bump? Debt certainly can't carry on increasing - which is why the 'international credit crunch' was bound to happen. (Note - 'international' means it's nobody's fault
).During a time of low consumer confidence, is now a good time for Brown to be hanging fuel duty and road tax increases over our heads? Surely this will only add to the gloom. Time to cut spending and stimulate the economy?
Turbulent times ahead.
