On Thursday 24th July 2008, the Times Higher Education reported the University of Wales, Lampeter proposed a number of job cuts to meet increasing salary payments which are not being met the current grant levels.

The departments with proposed redundancies include the voluntary sector, Welsh, theology and religious studies.
