More shock hits the City As Royal Sun Alliance announces a massive 1200 job cuts in the UK by the middle of 2010. Many of the employees will go at it's Liverpool, Manchester, Sunderland, Halifax and Horsham sites.

The redundancies come despite the company making £759 million profit last year.

The company thinks it can save £70 million by tightenning operations.

RSA is in consultation with the union and redundancy packages are in negotiation.
