To remain competitive, BAE Systems have announced almost 3,000 jobs will be cut from around the country.

These include

900 from the Brough factory in East Yorkshire
565 from Samlesbury, Lancashire
843 from Warton, Lancashire

Further plants in Dorset, Hampshire, Surrey, and Essex will also be affected with most of the redundancies planned for the military aircraft division.
