Rumours circulated by the Sunday newspapers have now been confirmed with the announcement of 3500 Corus job cuts including 2500 in the UK.

Llanwern nr Newport would be mothballed and a chunk of it's stake in Teeside would be sold. It is expected that there will be other cost cutting exercises including reduced salaries and benefits.
