Today has seen the announcement of another 1600 redundancies in the Royal Navy as part of a massive cost cutting exercise.

The total Navy personnel now due to lose their jobs stands (currently) at 5000.

Defence Minister Andrew Robathan insists current major Millitary operations will not be adversely affected, though many doubt the wisdom of the cuts in an increasingly unstable world.
