Another huge number of redundancies were announced today, this time from Plumbing and building firm supplies firm Wolseley.

Profits for the last quarter (ending October) were down by 45%. It is hoped this jobs cull will save £80 million per year.

The company has 1900 premises right across the UK and Eire. It blames the Rapid deterioration in the UK building market for the redundancies.
