Bosses at the Lindsey power plant in Lincolnshire have taken the unions head on with the drastic move to sack 900 striking contract workers.

1200 workers had walked out last week in unofficial action in support of 51 people who were made redundant while other workers were taken on.

The sacked contract workers have been told by management that they can apply for their jobs again by end of Monday 22nd June.

Sympathy strikes across the UK are expected.
