Default redundancy and mortgage protection...

this is really long winded......me and wife have separated and i left the marital home and currently rent a flat..... sods law i have no payment protection on the flat but i do on the mortgage of the house.... is it possible for me to put a claim in to get cover for the mortgage even though im not living there..... will this all be linked in with the child tax and working tax credits the wife gets as she's living in the house...... ???? was thinking mortgage could be covered and wife could pay my rent...... i think its a NO NO but just need someone to clarify this .... thanks !!!!
