We are making a documentary for BBC 1 about the personal impact of the economic downturn in the UK. We feel it is important to get beyond the figures and statistics to really find out what the recession means on a personal level. The documentary is due to be filmed over a number of months and is due to be transmitted before the General Election next year and make a real contribution to the debate about the social and emotional impact of this pivotal year.
