Hello i need some advise.
I first joined my company in Jan 2008 and they put me on a 2 year trainee contract. This ran out in January 2010, they then renewed my contract for another 6 months which took me to June 2010. My manager has told me to let my contract run out and he will then contact our head office to see if i can get a permanent job. They have told him at present there is a freeze on head count even though different depots are employing people with contracts. I just need to know where i stand. As i have worked for the company for over 2 and a half years am i entitled to have a permanent job? Also for instance how would it work if i fell pregnant would i still get the rights as an employee would. They have said to me that they would only need to give me a months notice so i would be scare to say one day want to start a family and then be told that they want to get rid of me. Whne i had a contract at least i knew it was up for renewal every 6 months or year where as now i live day by day thinking they can give me a months notice anytime.
I hope this all makes sense.
