I have been informed that I am at risk of redundancy from my home-based role. I have also been told that I will only be considered for an identical but office based role if I pay all my own transport and accommodation costs, costs that were previously paid by the company when I needed to attend the office. The office is 3.5 hours drive away from home, so I would require 4 nights accommodation plus petrol, amounting to over £250 per week.
As both my current role and the office based role perform exactly the same function, is my company able to do this legally, or does this constitute unfair dismissal?
Only considered for role if I pay all expenses
