I wonder if anyone can help.
I was a customer service manager, then got made a business development manager. The business never made me sign a new contract and the only terms i have are in an email from my MD.
Anyhow over the last 6 months it has been made clear to me by my new manager that they belive i am overpaid for my job, and have since january graually taken reposnsibilities away from me and handed them to other people within the organisation. The company have also not paid my sales bonus to me which was due 3 weeks ago.
I have now just recived notice of a possible redundancy due to reorganistion.
The organistaion has recently recuited several people and i have also found out that they are bringing in a new person on a lower wage to do a similar job to me, although with a different title.
Basically i feel that i am being made redundant so other people are being brought in on a lower wage to do a very similar job and its a case of my face doesnt fit.
I dont belive that any element of my job will cease to exist, they will just be redistributed around 2 or 3 people including a new recruit who starts in a month.
Over the last few months i feel that the cpompany has been trying to force me out by taking my resposnibilities from me, however now they are using 'redundcancy' as an excuse to legally get me out of the company which i have worked for now for 5 and a half years?
Is this right, can they give my responsibilities to other people, continue to recruit similar job roles, yet still make me redundant?
I have no union representation and there is no HR dept, the office i work in employes roughly 30 people. and i will be the ONLY one being made redundant at this time.
If anyone can help, i would very much appreciate it.
