Hi
On Wednesday 10th May 2009 I was called into a meeting and told that as a result of a review [looking on cost base and headcount] "we hereby notify you that your role is at risk of being made redundant, effective 30 June 2009"
A similar thing happened in another department in January. But, they were told 3 months in advance.
Is this something that should be standard, or was it that their management just did the right thing and decided to tell the staff as far ahead as possible?
A colleague of mine believes that 3months is the correct notice period when I'm being "put at risk". But, I'm not sure if this is true.
I've got my next HR meeting Weds 27th May, where I want to have myself prepared. I don't want to be walked over, as I'm sure I'm usually a bit of a push over in the workplace.
I'm currently compiling questions I want them to answer. Any further guidance from anyone here would be great.
