Background: Due to a department restructure, I have had to interview for my role. There are 2 available positions, both I am my colleague reapplied for our positions and an employee on the grade above also applied as she didn't get the position that was open at her grade.
I have now been given notice of redundancy and have been an offered a temporary 9 month contract in that same role. This is due to the employee of the above grade covering a role at her own grade whilst another employee is on maternity leave.
Is this temporary contract deemed to be a suitable alternative? From what I gather at the end og the 9 month contract I will be unemployed and will not go back into the redundany system.
Any advice would be appreciated.
Suitable Alternative?
