Forced to work part time

I have worked full time for the same employer for 11 years and there is another person in a similar role working part time.

We have been told today that there is now only 1 25 hour position we have to fight over and have both been given details of our redundancy package

Financially I will struggle on the part time job and feel that I am being forced into a position where I have no choice but to take the redundancy as i would be working and getting into debt unless I take on another part time job. The other person would be effectively getting a pay rise as its more hours for them.

Can they seriously get away with putting me in that position

Seriously I know exactly how it feels to be made redundant, I remember the fear of the future I had at that time.
But I found an opportunity later that I wish I had found at the time - hence why I am seeking to try and help people being made redundant currently. Get's you back on your feet immediately and I'm earning way more than I was in my old job.
