Chancellor Alistair Darling has announced that statutory redundancy pay will increase from £350 to £380 a week.
I have received the letter of redundancy notice together with the amount stated. However it is mentioned in the company redundancy policy that the company will pay double to the statutory pay.
Is that mean that I will get the increase? When is the increase in redundancy pay become effective?
Many thanks

Increase in redundancy pay

Hi
Indeed in the 2009 budget, Chancellor Alistair Darling announced a one off increase to a week’s pay for statutory redundancy pay from £350 to £380.
Unfortunately it is still not clear how or when this increase will take effect.
The current limit for a week's pay for statutory redundancy pay is £350 which is what your employer should be using to calculate your redundancy package.Clara Buckingham
