Hello,
I was made redundnat after i announced my pregnancy. I had to apply for an internal role which contained 85% of my job against the other marketing manager and he was given the job even though he has been there for 6 months and I have been there for 23 months.
No selection criteria was given prior to the redundancy, i helped the man do his job and trained him on internal processes! can this happen?

Hi mumaroonie
It does sound like you have a potential claim for sex discrimination and unfair dismissal. I am not sure how long ago you were made redundant but if it was recently you would be advised to put in an appeal and raise these issues with your employer.
If you have a look at my redundancy guide, this sets out in brief what employers should do to make staff redundant fairly. It should help you identify the errors your employer has made and help you state your case: http://www.etherington.co.uk/redundancy.shtml
I hope that helps.
