    Default Redundancy Protection

Is it true that a person who is asked to represent a group of people who may be getting made redundant, is exempt from being made redundant himself while he is acting as the representative?

    Hi, welcome to the forum.

An employee is deemed to have been unfairly selected for redundancy
if they were selected for redundancy for carrying out duties as an employee representative for purposes of consultation on redundancies or taking part in an election of an employee representative.

This doesn't mean that the representative isn't exempt from being made redundant. They could indeed be at risk of redundancy while acting as a representative.

    I hope this helps.
