Default end of fixed term contract

my hubbie's fixed term contract finished on Sunday, he's been off sick for the last 3 months and hasn't taken all his holidays. should he be entitled to holiday pay or any redundency payments. Also his boss hasn't contacted with regards to his contract finishing, spoke to him this morning and was told that his job is still there but they need to go through the interview process but he'ss welcome to apply, is this right?

    Hi,

Can you tell me how long your husband has been employed on a fixed term contract? Once I have this information, I will be able to answer your question.

    Many thanks

HI thank you for your reply.

Can you tell me the purpose of your husbands employment on a fixed term contract? E.g. was he employed to complete a specific task which has now ended or employed to meet seasonal demand etc.

You say his job is still there but he has to apply?

I'm a little confused. If you could tell me some more about his employment, I will be able to help :-)

    thanks

he was working in sports development and the contract was for two years when the funding for the post ran out. the post has been existed for several years and funding is applied for every two years (the funding comes from a number of sources such as local professional clubs, local council and government sports agencies). As they only had funding for two years thats how long the contract was for. in the past it's taken a month or two to sort funding out and then the post is reinstated. hope this helps.
