hi,
a few weeks ago a member of my team was given redundancy notice and all staff were informed. yesterday i was called into the office and told there had been a mistake in the adding of the points and it was actually me who was up for redundancy after he had appealed. is this correct?
my main point is regarding the point scoring system. my main line manager who i have worked with for around a year scored me 133 which i thought was very fair. The scond person scoring me only scored me 108. the issue is that the second person scoring me had only worked at the company for 10 days, does not work for the same newpaper as me,works in different team, has not seen expamples of my work and had effectively scored me on my personality. there are discrimination issues as i am a young female and the second scorer being a male who has worked with the origional employee up for redundancy for 8 years.
i lost out by 4 points and the difference in point scoring is quite obvious where the scond scorer has no experience of seeing my skills and therefore ticked the average.
upon attending the meeting i was told to keep quiet about this.
can anyone please advise on a appeal process.
Thank you it is very much appreciated
