Does anyone know anything about voluntary redundancy ? It all seems to be such a grey area.
I have been asked to take voluntary redundancy, which i have verbally accepted, but i am getting cold feet. I have worked for my employer for 11 years, they have offered me statuary redundancy pay and given me 11 weeks notice. My boss has told me she could withdraw VR at any stage , which leaves me feeling very uncomfortable, times are tough and my boss is coming out of retirement to take over my job. I have a job interview tomorrow and am worried about getting my redundancy payment, if i am offered the new job and need to start before my official leaving date, would i still get my VR payment ? I think my boss is edging her bets in case she won't be able to cope and might need me back at some stage. The place where i work is up for sale and my boss is writting me a formal letter to confirm my VR. Any advice would be helpful, thanks.
