My husband is at risk of redundancy. He works for a multinational company in a stand alone role. He was invited to a first meeting 2 weeks ago and the letter mentioned redundancies within the company. At no time did it state categorically that his job is at risk. He had a subsequent meeting last week, again, the letter inviting him to this did not state at risk although it said about redundancies within the company.

He has been invited to another meeting next week, yet again, for the 3rd time his letter did not state his job is at risk although on each occasion iut has stated that he can invite a colleague or union rep.

He asked a few days ago for the details of how many in the section he works in are at risk, what are the jobs at risk and what are the redundancy criteria being used. He has been informed that it is only his role as it is a stand alone role and that no criteria need apply as it is stand alone.

He has also discovered that the company asked for voluntary redundancies last month and he was not informed of this. The voluntary redundancy package included the full week salary payments instead of the statutary £350 which since my husband has been with the company for 15 years would make around £5000 of a difference.

I suppose I am looking for advice as to whether things have been done properly and was it appropriate that the information regarding voluntary redundancy requests as not passed along to the one person in the scottish di=vision that was going to be affected by redundancy
