Maybe those are the reasons - but maybe cuts no ice and you can't allege that these are the reasons without evidence. Have you asked - verbally or in wrtiting for the reasons that you have been selected? You have been told the criteria for selection - have you asked how you scored agianst those criteria?

I have been told the criteria but they did'nt score me

No - but you do have to have an explanation if you ask for one, and it would be sensible to ask for it in writing.

Update
Had my appeal on Thursday, recieved a letter from the company today with an offer of a £1000 to drop the complaint.
The union want to refer it to there legal department and have also arranged for me to see a solictor regarding the offer of a grand.

We all have our own styles of questioing, and it also depends on what information he has already got and what isn't clear. Don't worry. The solicitor won't eat you!
