hi i was officailly given notice of redundancy yesterday, after 22years, there was a pool of 15 people and 4 have been selected for redundancy after the scoring critera, i am the only long serving person within the selected the other three are 'just out of time' apprentices . I have since discovered after asking for my score sheet that the several floor managers ,were told to mark , by top management, all the people within the pool with the same score of avarage, and then to mark them up or down a mark according to timekeeping, attendance, conduct, safety awareness,performance,flexability,accuracy/quallity,capability.
after doing the same job for 22 years i considered myself excellent at most of these points, and i told top management this at the redundancy meeting, to which the reply was, "nobody gets excellent , you have to be super dooper to get that". i was also told that i had been marked down a point because i did not have a cscs card, which is totally irellivent for my job, and have never needed one in all these years, and they think that my safety awareness is impare because i dont have this card, I spoke to my floor manager, and he said the whole system had lots of flaws that it was not at all fair, that you could not give one person who was a model employee with 22years experence the same score as a person with five years experence. does this sound unfair to you and also i need to know if the safety awareness catagorie can be listed in the points critera, as i want to appeal
