Prevention of less favourable treatment I have been offered voluntary redundancy. I have worked for a local authority for 9 years but only 6 of those were as an employee. Prior to this I was employed through an agency on a succession of fixed term contracts. The redundancy offer only covers 6 years whereas other employees have been offered the full 9 years. Is this fair -more importantly is there anything i can do about it?

Whether or not it is fair is a matter of opinion. But it is the law, and there is nothing you can do about it.

Agreed. It isn't less favourable treatment - you only have six years employment. Prior to that you were employed by the agency.
