Dual role redundancy??????? I have been working for a company for 11 years doing various different roles in a full time permanent position. Four years ago, I took on an additional role to earn some more money with the same company. This I did in my spare time. Recently we have been told that the second roles are being made redundant, however as I have a dual role in the company I will not be entitled to redundancy money as I still have my main role within the company. I was told at the same time that I could possibly take redundancy for both roles, but they were looking into it. It would suit me at this point to take redundancy on both roles. Does anyone know anything about this???

Were you given a separate contract for your additional role or was it just tacked on to your existing role? Were you paid at different rates?

Hi, I was not given another contract. I asked for one and was told that I could not have one, as I already had a contract with the company. I was paid a different rate, they were both paid to me monthly and were shown on my pay slip. When the redundancy came up a few months ago and we were all in the consultancy stage, I was told that I would be treated exactly the same as those with a contract.

Sorry - we must habe missed you.
To be honest, I don't think it's clear cut. I think you would need to gather up your paperwork etc and talk to a lawyer. Based on what you have said I could argue it both ways here!
