Is this legal??? I worked for a Home Improvement company and on 13th Jan 2009 all employees were called in to be told the company could no longer trade. We were all made redundant from that point. We were given redundantcy booklets with forms to fill in at the back. I was told i would have to claim money owed and redundancy pay from the goverment as the company had no money left. I filled in the goverment forms stating all money owed to me and sent them off. I received a letter today stating my claim has been refused because the company hasn't gone into administation. The company is still advertising on the radio and in papers and i have seen their vans out working in the area??? If they are still trading surely they should be paying me? Any advise would be great, thanks Tom
