Ive been put at risk for redundancy and have a review meeting tomorrow to discuss any questions that i have and any alternatives that i have identified.
I have been told that i can take someone in with me but im not a union member or do i want to drag anyone from work in as i dont want to put them at risk for reprisals further down the line etc..
What are my options?
Also, Can the company re enstate my job just like that? They have said that other people within the company will absorb your role into theres if it is redundant.
If i am the only person doing a role within a company, and they set out a clear selection criteria, and they dont use this criteria on myself but they have used it on others, is this wrong? Why should i be singled out? This wasnt explained to me... all i had to go on was the selection criteria. Which under no impression have i ever been pulled up about my work, or has anyone come to see me saying there is an issue. Everyone in the company has had a review but i havent? Why? Have they singled me out? can they do this? what happens if they cant find any scores? Could they make them up without me knowing? Or would they have had to consult me?
If anyone can help please try and get back to me tonight.
Thanks

Hi dbrent, i'm sorry that we were unable to reply to your post in time for your meeting today.
How did it go? Did your employer talk to you about the reasons for potential redundancy, selection pool/criteria etc?
If you require any advice after your meeting today, please don't hesitate to return to the forum

Well from my point of view it went really well - I done all my research on the net and contacted CAB and ACAS etc... and went in armed upto the teeth!
They looked very shocked to start as i pulled out different pieces of paperwork regarding ACAS book, Different solicitors names, and Direct website info etc.. before i had said anything.... Then i said as i have no representative with me today can i use a dictaphone? WHY WHATS THIS ABOUT!
Anyway, I asked how i was selected for redundancy.
They said it was an Executive decision!
By who?
All the Officers!
So how was my role selected for redundancy? You must have followed some criteria to get to your decision?
Business Plan!
So can i see copies of how you come to the Decision?
No there arent any!
This seems unfair?
As there were 16 people going - I was the only one doing my job - so they have said that the selection criteria doesnt apply to me!
BUT - There initial letter doesnt mention anything about those who do stand alone jobs wont be judged on the criteria! Is this right?
Do i have something to fight for if i wasnt told that the selction criteria didnt apply to me? How would i have know this?
Thanks
