Hi, I hope that someone may be able to clarify a selection pool issue that I have ?
Due to a "European business re-organisation", I have recently received an "at risk" letter, informing me that my role is potentially redundant. My role as departmental site manager at site A, is to be replaced with a more senior position.
The new position is to effectively manage site a and site b departments. In discussions with my opposite number at site b, I was surprised to discover that he had not received a similar "at risk" letter, desite broadly performing the same role as me. (we have the same job title and a mirror image org structure)
Consultations are in their early stage, however, I have not been offered any explanation as to why my role is at risk and the same job at a different location is not. The new role could be undertaken at either site.
I am being singled out for special attention and have they correctly or incorrectly identified the selection pool for the redundancy ?
Any assistance gratefully received
