Hello,
I was notified that my role was at risk of redundancy on Mon 12th Jan.
I am currently in 30 day consultancy, my last working day stated as Fri 13th Feb.
I have not had to work this period & have been very fortunate in that I have accepted a better job offer today to start on Mon 16th Feb.
During this period I have spoken with HR regularly for meetings & on phone and have been informed that there are no alternative roles available for me.
However, I have spoken to my line manager today and although her role is not being made redundant, she has found another position and is going to resign. I'm really worried that is she resigns before my consultancy period officially ends that they could retract the redundancy & I will not get any redundancy payment.
Where would I stand if this was the case?
Many thanks in advance.

Redundancy & alternative roles

Redundancy and Alternative Roles Dear LKB
I am sorry to hear about your unfortunate situation.
If your manager resigns, then the Company must offer this role as an alternative to anyone that is being made redundant, if of course they wish to replace the position.
If an alternative position arises during your consultation period then if you feel it is not suitable then you dont have to accept it.
I suggest you sit tight and see what they do if your line manager resigns before you are due to be terminated due to redundancy. If you have another job I am sure they are not likely to stop you going.
Therefore, why not wait to see what happens.
Hope this helps.
Best wishes
Carol
