Hello all,
This is going to take some explaining but would welcome some advice and feedback. Just before Xmas I was told that I was being made redundant. My M.D. sat me down and went through all the processes. He himself bought the company 12 months ago (we are based in Southern England) and he lives in Ireland and has a fulltime job with another company so he only spends a couple of days with us, in the meantime I ran the company when he wasn`t there. He didn`t take a salary from the business (as he was being paid by his other job)
During his pre redundancy meetings with me he explained that he would need to take more control of the business and take on more of my resposibilities and duties, also reducing his hours at his other job and increasing his hours at this job. This would also mean taking a small salary to compensate for his reduced hours from the other job. I have all the above points in writing as minutes of the meetings were taken.
What I`d like to know is would I have a fair case for being made redundant unfairly? I am at the moment working out my notice period (although this is being done on gardening leave) of which I have two weeks left. Should I expect my redundancy pay with my final pay packet? or does an employer have a certain amount of time to pay it. Would welcome your advice/feedback thanks
