Please advise on how to deal with my present situation
I have been advised this week that my position has been provisionally selected for redundancy, and am required to attend a Consultation Meeting next week , I have also been advised that I can be accompanied by either a trade union rep or a work colleague - Is this correct? Am I entitled to take anyone else?
I work for a small company with a total employee base of 30, we were advised via a team meeting at the begining of January that the company needed to reduce its over heads and that they had made some cost cutting measures but that the only other avenue open to them was to make some positions redundant.
Initally they were looking for voluntary redundancies, but if they did not recieve an apporpriate numbers of voluntary then they would look at compulsory redundancies using a redundancy selection assessment form - This included areas of assessment such as future potential and flexibility having the highest weighting of 3 in comparison to Skills / Qualifications only a 1.
I am one of two Trainers working for the company both of us have only been with the company for 6 months , we had been asked to work from home throughout January and I have been office based since before christmas , while the other trainer has been doing all the training. - The Original training schedule was removed from our computer access, around the same time. We have only been verbally told of our requriements each week since - saying they are taking the situation day by day.
After hearing that I have recieved the lowest score via a telephone conference and that I had been selected for provisional redundany ,I asked to see a copy of my assessment, they refused to allow me access to this assessment , and will only discuss in general terms at the consultation meeting thus not disclosing the actual scores.
Are they able to do this - do I have any rights to view the assessment paperwork??
I have a 3 month notice period, as stated in my terms of employment - How will this be affected ?
They have told me I am not required to work during my consultation period- Is this correct?
Do they have to tell me who else or how many other people are being made redundant?
They have included a list ( 2 positions) that are available within the company as possible alternative roles - What is the situation if I do not want or do not accept these other roles?? - they are not of a similar type role
I would greatly appreciate any advice you can offer on this subject
Many Thanks
R

scores Hi ... first just to be clear I am a lay person who has been doing a far amount of reseach.
However my understanding it that there are ET judgements which support the view that should see you score. Re: others scores I believe good practice is to see scores of others without them being named.
Hope this helps
