Redundancy Selection and Sickness. Can a employer use a points system in the same format if you have been in hospital .and recovering .I have been in hospital for 2 occasions in 3 years. Other people could had more occassions off ,but only a day or so at a time.

When selecting a employees for redundancy, an employer should apply selection criteria that are reasonable and are applied in a fair manner.
The same selection criteria selection should be applied to all employees at risk of redundancy.
However, a redundancy dismissal may be unlawful if an employer’s selection criteria discriminates against employees of disability.
If you feel that you have been unfairly selected as redundant, you should at first appeal the decision with your employer, in writing.
