Hi
My company has announced that due to a down turn in business a number of redundancies will need to be made.
There are currently 2 full time and 1 part time staff in the department, this will be reduced to 2 staff members.
Is it possible for the part time person to become full time and for me to lose my job?
Is there any case for unfair dismissal if the part time person was made full time and a full time person made redundant doing the same job role?
The part time person has 16yrs service where as I have only 18 months, would this be taken into consideration when deciding who will remain?
Thanks for any info you can share.
