Hi,
I'm employed at a company which had a big redundancy in last October 2008 (29 people, the company had ~120 employees that time) and a "small" one in Jan 2009, where 19 people were laid off, just under 20 so no consultancy period needed. The first time we had proper consultancy, but now we just received an e-mail in the morning about what is about to happen, and people were selected in the afternoon.
I survived both, but I know I won't survive the third one, and I know our circumstances enough to be sure there will be a third round.
What is the minimum time (if any set legally) that has to pass, before an another "small" redundancy can happen? In other words, how long am I safe from an another redundancy? I mean can a company make 19 people redundant on a day and another 19 on the next day (week or month) just to avoid the consultancy period?
Many thanks, John
What is a minimum time between two redundancies to happen at the same company?
