Hi,
Recently it was announced that my company is likely to be making redundancies in the near future. We were told that a selection criteria is being proposed for each department where redundancies will be made. We were each provided with a letter highlighting this and given a copy of the criteria that will be used, each point being marked on a score of 10.
In the attached letter it says that any comments we have on the selection criteria would be welcomed.
I was planning on writing a letter to project myself against each of the criteria and show what i have offered the company with regards to each point.
Is this something i should be doing?, or will it backfire as coming across as desperate.
Any advice would be most appreciated.
Thank you

Comments on Selection Criteria Dear Ug
At this time it seems your employer is looking for any comments on the selection criteria themselves rather than individual comments against them at this time.
If you feel that the criteria are ok, then that's fine. However, if you are selected you will have the opportunity to challenge the scores and comments given against the criteria.
Even if you are not selected you should have the opportunity to review the assessment and still be able to comment on and challenge them.
At this point, I would advise you not to write anything to your employer about what you feel against the criteria. However, it might be helpful for you if you are worried about it, to write it down anyway and then at least you can use this in any consultations about the assessment later.
Hope this has helped.
Best wishes
Carol
