Hi - I'm after some advice and I hope someone can help.
I've been working in the NHS for 2 years on a series of rolling temporary contracts. My position within the trust has recently been made redundant and I have been given a redeployment option to take a role on a lower band with paid protection. I have accepted this and am due to start my 1 month trial in this new role on 1st July.
However, I have just been accepted onto a university course which is due to start in September.
I want to complete my 1 month trial and then hand in my notice on 1st August. My question is - would I be able to work my 1 month notice period up to 1st September or would I have to leave immediately on 1st August - particularly as I haven't got a permenant contract and technically my "rolling contract" ended in May.
I would ordinarily pose this question to my organisation's HR team or my line manager, but the organisation I work for has a horrendous bullying culture led mainly by my line manager (hence why I am leaving to return to university and re-train) and the HR team don't seem to understand the meaning of the phrase "confidential chat".
Any help would be hugely appreciated
Thanks
Evie

Redeployment trial - notice period?

If this is a trial period under the law - which it would appear that it is - then you would be expected to leave if you refuse the position. Notice doesn't apply in quite the same way because the trial itself is an extension of your redundancy notice.

Thank you SarEl, that's a big help.
So in order to work up until September I would have to accept the permenant contract offered (assuming of course I get offered one) then hand in my notice a week later? Would I then be entitled to work 1 month's notice?
Thank you for your help
