Hi, i was initially employed on a fixed term contract for 12 months, after this i was then on a month by month contract. My employer as now made me redundant without holding a consultation meeting with me,i was just handed my notice by letter.I have written to them to appeal against the decision and i wanted a personnal hearing but they have said they have taken legal advice and stand by their decision so i have not had a personnel hearing, are they in the right or wrong.

Unfairly Dismissed Dear Iain, I was employed for 18 months as a co-ordinator of a re-cycling project. In early November2008 my employer gave me a letter informing me that they were ending my contract at the end of that month and also the contract of the other employed person who was the driver.I was not consulted before hand about this so i told them i was unhappy about their decision and unhappy with the reasons given. As i had an outstanding grievance with them to clear up they then decided to delay their decision for a month until this was dealt with.
In December i was given my notice and they informed me that they were keeping the driver employed.
