I have recievd a letter from my employer, after a meeting I was invited to on Monday- a catch up apparently. I was informed my job was at risk then.

On Tuesday I received a letter from the company confirming I was at risk and the following information:


* the company have concluded they may no longer require my role and 1 other as it is deemed the 2 can be done together
* I have provisionally been selected for redundnacy as it is my job that is "likely to disappear"
* They have considered whether I should be included in the pool for selection along with "NAMED" person but believe this would not be appropriate because I do not have the skills and experience necessary.
* Careful thought has been given to alternatives to redundancy and to my possible redeployment but as yet they have been unable to identify any suitable options

and end with inviting me to a meeting to discuss my position. How does consultation fit into this and why have I been excluded from the pool when I am not even aware of the Job Description and part of my existing role will be merged into this. What shuold I do?
