alternative employment

alternative employment If my employer as another job in mind for me when in the consultation period can i be informed of this. do i have to wait until next consultation meeting.

Thank you for your question.
Your Employer has a duty to actively consult with you to mitigate and discuss ways of avoiding the redundancy. Both employer and employee should consider any alternative work that the employee could do or any ways in which the employee could stay in their current job.
The alternative job offer must be made before the current job ends and the start date must be no more than 4 weeks after the old job ended.
Whether your employer tells you about any alternative employment before the next consultation meeting will depend open your employment relationship and whether it is practical e.g. If you have regular contact with your line manager and there are a small amount of redundancies taking place it may be practical that you can be told as and when suitable vacancies arise.
