I wonder if anyone can give me some advice. I have been employed by the Council for 4 years as an Enforcement Officer I examine waste for evidence and create files for Court and other enforcement issues. For years the Department have been trying to get my colleagues and I to remove the dumped waste once it has been examined for evidence but we all maintained that wasn't our job as we are in a uniform and we would have to change as it can be rather dirty picking up bags of dumped waste.

We were told that there are to be some redundancies, there are 9 of us and only 4 jobs and we were to be interviewed for our own jobs, who got the jobs would rely solely on the interview, we were issued with a new job description and job title, in the job description there were different tasks and one was to physically remove the waste this is manual work.

I had an industrial injury and fell at work and tore my tendon in 2009 I had 2 operations last year to repair it and months of physio and have only just been signed of physio in February I still do not have the full use of my wrist and it is very weak I cannot lift, pull or push with my right hand.

I feel that as Management had added the new task to physically remove the waste from site which I am unable to do due to my injury, I feel that I have been excluded from being able to complete that role even before interview

I would appreciate some comments, I cannot prove it but they have chosen all males that are willing and able to remove the waste and they would know I am not able to physically do that
