Hello , new to this site, hope someone can help
Company I was employed by for last 3 and a half years informed us that company was going into administration 23/12/08 and informed all employers that wages due to be paid on the last working day of december would be late by up to a week but we were assured that they would be paid. And we were to carry on working as normal.
Went back to work 5/01/09 after christmas holiday only to be informed that I was being made redundant as from now 5/01. Informed that wages should still go into bank this week hopefully ??
After looking for information about this it looks as though I may have to claim my unpaid wages back also, can the company does this as it still trading and now I have got no income , with bills to pay still waiting for formal letter informing me of the redundancy which I was told should have bee in the post today.
Also should the administrator give me the reasons why I was chosen for redundancy , over other employees doing the same job.
would be grateful for any advice that would help.
Thanks
