Hi
4 weeks ago I left a comfortable job at a charity to start work for a group of care homes as a full time employee at their head head office. Within a week of being there, one of the care homes was closed by social services, and another is now under threat. I'm almost sure that if the second was to close then I would be made redundant, and I'm seeking any advice on where I stand legally a) with redundancy pay and b) whether there is such a thing as unfair employment? (I wasn't made aware of any issues during the interview process).
Any help is much appreciated.

(a) No - there is no right to redundancy pay before 2 years service
(b) Not in law. They offered a job and you accepted it - they do not have to disclose their "business stability" to interviewees (or staff). Unfortunately, sometimes, this happens and leaves newer staff without any recourse. Have you consdiered seeing if your old job is still available?

I agree with SarEl, unfortunately you have no protection legally, so your best option, given it's only been 4 weeks, is probably to see whether your old job is still vacant.
