    Default Made redundant today.

Today I have been made redundant from work. I have been working for this company for only 19 months. I was not given any notice ( 90 days ) as over 100 people also went today.

I wondering if I am due any other payments ? I have been told that I will get this weeks wage next week.

    Many thanks,

    Paul

    Dear Paul

I am sorry to hear of your situation, however, it is hard to advise without knowing the full reasons as to why without notice over 100 have been made redundant.

The COmpany has to follow the statutory redundancy process unless of course it has gone into administration.

However, with under 2 years service you are not entitled to any statutory redundancy pay and I assume that you are on the statutory notice period of 1 week for each year of completed service and therefore you either have to work this notice or be paid it in lieu.

I would advise that you visit the Acas and BERR websites for further information to see if the reasons for your selection for redundancy and the process is lawful.
