notice period I have just been made redundant at work and my notice period of two weeks takes me into my third year. My employer has agreed to pay me redundancy for three years service and two weeks lieu of notice. I feel i am entitled to three weeks notice as this period takes me into my third year of service. Is this correct

How much notice you are entitled to would depend on your length of service when notice is given, so two weeks would be fine.

Hmm - bit of a grey area! The amount of notice to which you are entitled is technically based on your service at the time that the notice is served, so two weeks is probably correct as the calculation of notice, whilst the employer is correct that you are entitled to 3 years redundancy pay because your last day of employment will be in your third year. I don't think you would be able to force this because your notice has been served in the second year, but it's worth asking. They may give it as a goodwill gesture.
